JENNY HIGHLAND
PHYSICAL THERAPIST, REGISTERED YOGA TEACHER
Jenny is a Physical Therapist, practicing for over 20 years, earning both a BS in Allied Health and an MS in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut. Her PT career path has been paralleled in its entirety by a steady practice of yoga, also for over 20 years, beginning at Baptiste Power Yoga in Cambridge, MA and has involved many incredible studios across the country since then. This passion for yoga continues to culminate, now holding a certification as Registered Yoga Teacher-200 from Flow State Wellness Studio in Charleston, SC. Additionally, she holds advanced certificates in Dry Needling as well as Myofascial Cupping, both of which have become an integral part of this elevated, holistic wellness service she has developed.
To date, Jenny has treated in over 20,000 PT patient sessions. That is 20,000 sessions to rehabilitate, restore and heal. Her work has brought her to treat in five different states, and across a wide variety of clinical settings, treating what feels like nearly every kind of injury, illness, condition, and traumatic situation. Being a clinician in all of these cases she has felt the urge to combine her knowledge and experience as a PT with the multitude of benefits she has observed through the practice of yoga and her passion for wellness and the quest for wellbeing.
Yoga has been a way to fill her cup so that she can keep herself afloat while treating others and living in the chaos of our modern world. The movements, postures and breath have the ability to make her feel strong and vital while also showing her humility. These are possibilities not found in many other avenues and she has a need to share this with others.
Jenny believes this modern approach at Elevate utilizing the best aspects of PT and Yoga will have an integral role in establishing and reclaiming health in a new model of wellness. And now we begin.
